Why we love this Apple Cinnamon Cake
This cake is an amalgamation of everything good. It's the best thing that can happen to you on a rainy day. This cake slightly warm and a cup of coffee is all I ask for!
As if apple and cinnamon was not enough the caramel sauce is just so comforting that it's a food version of a cosy blanket. If you are wary of making caramel don't be.This is the easiest caramel in the history of caramels.I have used brown sugar to make the sauce which makes it ever so easy to get the perfect wintery brown caramel.

Thank you so much for the recipe and instructions for preparation.Just turned 75 and I'm a new baker pastries and just started making my own wheat bread. My favorite is carrot cake.Which i made last week.
1.My questions are:. How small do the apples need to be cut?
2.Would it be appropriate to use sourdough starter with the baking soda?
3.Should eggs be at room temperature?
4.Does the cake taste better when aged for a couple days before cutting
5. Is it okay to Use one of Granny Smith apple and one honey crisp? Gary<

Hey Gary,
I have written the answers below each questions.
I hope it helps. Do reach out if you have more questions.
1.My questions are:. How small do the apples need to be cut?
A-I like them about .5-1 cm chunks. That way they melt into the cake.
2.Would it be appropriate to use sourdough starter with the baking soda?
A-I haven't experimented with substituting sour dough starter with baking soda. So i cant really say if that will work.
3.Should eggs be at room temperature?
A-Yes
4.Does the cake taste better when aged for a couple days before putting
A-I think fresh cake would taste the best. That said, a few days old, warmed cake tastes great as well.
5. Is it okay to Use one of Granny Smith apple and one honey crisp?
A-Yes absolutely
