Garlic Butter Umami Noodles- Umami Butter Garlicky goodness that you won't be able to get enough of!
This recipe needs only 5 ingredients and it's so so simple to make!
It's one of those rainy day, shitty day or even the best day but empty fridge kind of day recipes!
You wont believe that just 5 ingredients can add such flavor. Our secret here is Oyster sauce!
I mean in what world would you have imagined spaghetti with butter garlic and oyster sauce would be so delicious!
Here are the 5 ingredients that you need
- Oyster sauce
- Parmesan Cheese
I am not counting 2 ingredients here - Salt & Olive Oil
Lets talk Garlic- We want lots of garlic. Minced or chopped as small as possible. Though don't make a paste out of it!
Spaghetti- You can use any noodles. I love udon or spaghetti for this recipe because of the bite it usually has.
How to make Buttery Garlic Noodles
Step 1: Boil the Noodles as per the packet ingredients. You can go a touch above el dente because the sauce doesn't have a tonne of liquid in it.
So get them to a soft texture but not mushy.
Step 2: Heat the butter and oil in the pan. The reason you add olive oil is so the butter doesn't burn too quickly.
Add Garlic and let it infuse. Add the oyster sauce and cook for 20-30 seconds.
Use your ladle or spatula to mix everything well.If it starts to burn add a splash of water to it.
Step 3: Add Cooked noodles and give it a good mix.That's all!
Step 4: Top with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese.The more the better...Wink wink..but not really.
How to make Garlic Noodles Healthier
I have a few great options here.
You can substitute the spaghetti with Zucchini noodles or healthier chickpea or lentil options.
If you like your spaghetti, then you can add a lot of veggies.Something like mushroom will work wonders here.Also, shrimp or sausages will also be great here!

- In a flat pan, add butter,Olive Oil & Garlic.Let it sizzle on medium low heat for 1 minute.
- Add the Oyster sauce, give it a stir so that the sauce mixes with the fats.
