Air Fryer Roast Peanuts

Air Fryer Roast Peanuts- Crispy, Evenly Roasted Peanuts. Use your favorite seasoning. It's so good!

You can add any seasoning of choice and eat it like a snack or make peanut butter with it. You can also make Peanut chutney.

Before you proceed- i want to just repeat this once more...Make peanut butter at home.It's healthy etc but...more than that..its extremely yummy.Plus you dont have that film of oil floating on top.

My 5 year old and his grand father..my dad have a habit of snacking.They need something every 1-2 hours.It can be exhausting.

The best thing to do in this case is have a running list of easy snacks.Snacks which can be made within a couple of minutes.Snacks that can be stored easily.

My roasted peanuts with a dash of garlic,herbs and salt are one great option.Another option is roated Makhana or foxnuts.

Can you air fry Peanuts

You can air fry almost anything.Really!

Sometimes you need a little bit of a trick.but not here.

Air frying peanuts is way better than making it on the pan.

I will tell you why!

  • No babysitting the pan. No continuous stirring.
  • Takes lesser time- just 5 minutes.
  • Evenly roasts the peanuts.

I cant tell you how many times i have kept the peanuts on the stove.And... forgotten about them for just 5 seconds..and burnt the whole lot.

Yes that's happened sooooo many times!

When you are air frying peanuts, you can set the timer.So whatever happens, the airfryer will switch off after the set time.So the chance of burning the peanuts is way lesser!

Plus..have you ever had peanuts roasted from one side and completely raw inside? That wont happen here! Because the air fryer will blast hot air from all sides.

It's a clean win! The only way to roast peanuts is using an air fryer!

Peanuts with Skin or Without

You can use peanuts still with the thin skin on.I usually leave it on because

  • I am lazy
  • They have a lot more nutrients
  • I like it.
  • The flavours stick to the peanuts better.

That said, there is a lot of conflicting informtion out there.Some say it's good, some say its bad.

For our cooking purposes, i use them when making peanut butter and peanut chutney.I leave it out when i am topping crushed peanuts on noodles or salads.

For this recipe, use un flavoured raw peanuts- with or without the skin.

How to fry Peanuts in Air fryer

I don't preheat the air fryer.Beacause..as established..i am lazy.

So just go ahead and dump the peanuts in the air fryer and set the timer for 5 minutes.Thats all.Thats your plain roasted peanuts.Without oil and seosoning.

If you want seasoning, then add a bit of oil and toss the raw peanuts in the seosoning.

In the video and photos, I have used a combination of dried garlic powder ,dry herbs and salt.

Seosoning ideas for Roast Peanuts

Here are some seosoning options

  • Salt and Black Pepper
  • Peri Peri
  • Pizza Seasoning
  • Honey & Chili
  • Honey & Cinnamon
  • Chipotle
  • Ranch
  • Masala Peanuts

To make Masala Peanuts in the air fryer.You will need 1 tablespoon Chickpea Flour(besan), Salt, Chilli and some dry Mango powder.Add oil in it and make it pasty.

Toss the peanuts in the Masala paste and air fry for 5 minutes as usual.

How long to fry Peanuts in the Air Fryer

5 minutes.Thats all.

Without any preheating.

Give a toss in the middle at the 3 minute stage and you are done.Sometimes i forget the give the toss and it turns out just fine!

How to Refresh Roast Peanuts in the air fryer

So you left those peanuts out and they have lost all their bite.

Dont throw them out just yet! Just air fry them for 2 minutes and refresh them!

it's that easy!

Equipment Needed

  • Air fryer

Ingredients 

  • 1 Cup Peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon Oil Peanut oil/Olive oil/Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Seosoning*

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix toghether the peanuts,oil and the seosoning
    1 Cup Peanuts, 1 teaspoon Oil, 1 tablespoon Seosoning*
  • Add them to the air fryer basket, Close the air fryer..
  • Set the temperature to 180 C or 365 F. Set the time to 5 minutes.
  • Shake the peanuts at 3 minute mark.
  • At the end of 5 minutes, take the peanuts out.
  • Place them in a plate and let it cool before eating.

Masala Peanuts

Storing Peanuts
Store the roast peanuts in an air tight container for upto 7-10 days.
Reheating or Refreshing Peanuts
To make peanuts crispy again, Air fry the roasted peanuts for 2 minutes at 180C or 365F.
