Date Snickers

Date Snickers- A healthier version of Snickes Bar made with medjool dates, peanut butter, Chocolate & Peanuts

Equipment

  • Piping Bag Optional, can be replaced with a spoon
  • Tooth Picks Optional but help in handling

Ingredients

  • 9-10 Dates
  • ¼ Cup Peanut butter
  • ½ Cup Chocolate
  • ¼ Cup Peanuts Crushed

Instructions

  • Slit the date from the top. Make sure to cut only the top part. Remove the seed
  • Fill the piping bag with peanut butter. Or you can just use a spoon.
  • Fill the date with peanut butter.
  • Add a few pieces of crushed peanuts. If using toothpick, skewer the date from the bottom.
  • Meanwhile, microwave the chocolate in a deep small microwave-safe bowl in 30 second bursts for about 2 minutes(More or less).In every 30 seconds, keep stirring the chocolate.
  • Once the chocolate has melted and it flowy and smooth, Stop heating the chocolate.
  • If the chocolate is thick and not flowy, add ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil to it. Mix it up and add more oil if needed(Read notes)
  • Either drizzle the chocolate on top or you can dip it completely.
  • Keep the chocolate dipped date on a flat tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Top the dipped dates with crushed peanuts.
  • Let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes so that the chocolate solidifies.

Notes

Date Seed - Remember to remove the date seeds. Check patiently, especially if you are making this for children. Date Seeds are a choking hazard.
Coconut Oil- When adding coconut oil, do it in small ¼ teaspoon increments. Do not go over board- otherwise the chocolate will melt at room temp too.
Toothpick -Use a Toothpick to dip the date in melted chocolate. The tooth pick will also keep the filling together plus make it easy for you to eat the snicker dates.
