Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs Broccolini about 3 cups worth
  • 1 tablespoon Avocado oil spray bottle
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Wash and trim the broccolini stems. Use a kitchen sciccors to cut off the thicker stems. Break the bigger bunches into smaller sticks.
  • Pat the broccolini dry with a kitchen towel or a cloth.
  • Spray oil and sprinkle salt. Toss it a bit.
  • Pre - heat the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 400F / 200 C.
  • Place the broccolini in one layer. Toss it a bit to make sure it's evenly coated.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes. Watch for the broccolini burning in the last 2 minutes. It goes from undercooked to completely charred pretty fast.

Notes

Tips, Science & Serving

  • The Brocolinni goes from charred and delicious to burnt within 30 seconds. So please make sure to keep an eye on it towards the end of the cooking time.
  • The cooking time will reduce if your air fryer is smaller or the quantity of broccolini is less.
  • The air fryer works because of the air flow. When you use an air fryer sleeve or foil or parchment paper, the air flow stops. So the fundamental cooking process changes. My suggestion is to ditch the air fryer sleeve.
  • Serve the Broccollini along with your favourite protein- We have been making whole meals in the air fryer, with our mains being Lemon pepper drumsticks and Roast tilapia straight from the freezer.
