Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Cups Whole Wheat Flour Aata
  • 1 Pinch Baking Soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 ½ Cup Jaggery See Notes
  • ¼ Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 1 ½ Cups Cut Strawberries Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees or 365 Degrees F.
  • Heat the milk on medium flame.Add the butter and jaggery to it.Let it come to a bubble and switch the heat off.
  • Let the milk mixture cool.Keep mixing while you prepare the other ingredients.
  • Mix in the baking powder, baking soda and the whole wheat flour in a bowl separetly.
  • Break two eggs in a bowl and whisk.Trickle in the whisked eggs to the hot(but not boiling) milk mixture slowly and fold in.
  • Once the eggs have been folded ,tip over the dry ingredients and fold.
  • Netx,Add 2 teaspoon vanilla essence and the cut strawberries.
  • Pour the batter in a prepared loaf pan.(see notes)
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes till the skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Notes

Sugar* - If you don't like your cakes too sweet you can reduce the amount of Jaggery to 1 cup.But If you have a sweet tooth then I suggest you go for 2 cups
Prepared Pan*- I usually prepare my pans by first oiling them and then lining with butter paper.
